Fatima is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate under the supervision of Ardis Lo, MS, LPC-S; and she is a National Certified Counselor. Fatima earned her Master of Science degree in Counseling from Southern Methodist University where she received extensive training in Activity Therapy, Adolescent Counseling, Family Violence, Disordered Eating, Minority Issues, and Mindfulness. She provided counseling services and crisis intervention to teens and adults struggling with relationship issues, body image, grief, childhood trauma, identity concerns, anxiety, and depression at Lifeologie Institute in Dallas, TX. Additionally, her work experience includes creating crisis interventions for children and adolescents with experiences of trauma at a children’s advocacy center.

Fatima believes everyone has the ability to grow, heal, and find meaning in a safe, supportive, and genuine relationship. Fatima believes that a person can become their most authentic self when offered this accepting relationship. Her goal is to make you feel comfortable and empowered to narrate your own life story as you overcome challenges. Fatima uses an eclectic approach of therapeutic modalities including expressive arts, activity therapy, narrative therapy, talk therapy, mindfulness and sand tray to meet you where you are in your journey.

In her free time, Fatima enjoys spending quality time with loved ones, practicing mindfulness, drinking matcha, and being outdoors on sunny days.
