Sarah is a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern under the supervision of Rochelle Ritzi, PhD. Sarah holds a Master of Science degree in Counseling with a specialization in Play therapy from the top-ranked play therapy program in the world, University of North Texas. In addition to Play Therapy, Sarah’s areas of education and experience includes work with adults and adolescents, activity therapy, and group therapy through UNT’s Child and Family Resource Center.
Sarah strives to create a therapeutic relationship free from judgment and expectations, and believes it is within this relationship that individuals are able to openly explore their emotions and grow as a result. Her main goal is to create a warm and accepting atmosphere to promote the growth individuals wish to make. Sarah recognizes the importance of understanding each person’s experience, and strives to make counseling a collaborative process unique to each individual.
Sarah is currently pursuing a PhD in Counseling from the University of North Texas. Her goal is to further her education to better serve her clients, while also gaining the experience necessary to serve as an advocate in the mental health field, through conducting research and educating future counselors.
