Chelsea Yurkovich is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She earned her Masters degree in Counseling from Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Plano, TX, where she received specialty training in Play Therapy, Family Play Therapy, Activity Therapy, Group Therapy, and Addictions. Her education and experience includes working with children, adolescents, teens, parents, and adults dealing with various mental health issues at SMU’s Center for Family Counseling. She also worked with children, families, and troubled teens at SMU’s Center for Family Counseling in Frisco ISD and Frisco’s disciplinary high school.
Chelsea believes counseling is a helping hand when life simply becomes too difficult to handle alone. She emphasizes the importance of a trusting therapeutic relationship with each and every client in order to produce healthy growth and change. Her passion lies with working with children, adolescents, and families in a safe, non-judgmental environment.
Chelsea graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Addictive Diseases and Recovery Studies. To further her education and experience, she is currently studying for her Doctoral degree in Counseling.
