Lori holds a Master of Science degree in Counseling, with a specialty in Play Therapy from the top ranked play therapy program in the world, the University of North Texas. She completed her master’s level internship at the Center for Play Therapy, a globally sought after training facility for play therapy, with special emphasis on early childhood development under the direction of Dr. Sue Bratton.
Lori blends talk, play and expressive art therapy together to create an atmosphere where deep personal insight and safe expression can help create change. Lori believes in tailoring her counseling approach to creatively address her client’s needs on an individual basis. She enjoys the beauty of working with both adults and children, but specializes in Therapeutic Parenting and Play Therapy where her approach helps foster deeper connections between families. Her experience gives her special empathy and interest in families dealing with medical crises or difficult diagnosis in children.
Lori approaches counseling from a strengths-based framework, believing that even the tiniest among us has the capability of tapping into their inner resources to create healthy change. She enjoys collaboration with clients and the entire family system to help solve existing problems and enhance communication and connection.
Lori is happily married and has two elementary aged children, two precious but stinky, geriatric fur babies, two frogs and a fish tank. She enjoys pursuing painting, yoga and sculpting alone and with her children and travel in her free time.
